ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Award-winning mystery writer, Joyce Ann Brown, author of the Kansas City set Psycho Cat and the Landlady Mystery series, was a teacher, librarian, landlady, and Realtor before becoming a short story, blog, and novel writer. She has two mischievous cats of her own and lives with her husband in the Kansas City area.
Ms. Brown spends her days writing (with a few breaks for tennis, walking, and book clubs) so Beth, the landlady in the series, and Sylvester, the Psycho Cat, can solve puzzling who-done-its involving heinous crimes.

Moose, a short-haired Tabby, likes to be with his people whenever he's in the house. If someone goes outdoors, that's where he wants to go, too. The big cat squiggles all over the place whenever he's being rubbed. He nuzzles ears when being held, and he loves to sleep on the back of the sofa. An appreciator of dinnertime, he eats any food left in Chloe's bowl.

Chloe, a long-haired Tabby, is known as a stone-cold killer around the Brown household. Killing bugs, mice, and cat toys, that is. Well, she also attacks her brother, Moose, sometimes, but it's only in jest. She's much smaller than the big Moose cat, and he is liable to roll onto his back and fight her off with paws in the air. When he gets tired of the whole thing, he bounds to his feet and chases her. She hides under a piece of furniture where she can keep an eye on him.
